Match Comments: Holy Family brings its perfect record into the semifinal game against Grant Park. Jordan Wooden for Holy Family starts with a service winner but then hits the next one in the net so the scored is tied 1-1. Grant Park's Katie McNally served but a kill attempt by Corryn Poby goes out giving the side out to Holy Family, 2-1. A tip at the net by Claire Raycraft makes it 3-1 and another point makes it 4-1. A service error by HF makes it 4-2 but Poby hits her attempt into the net so HF leads 5-2. A devestating kill by Alexis Clemons made it 6-2, but Maggie Good hits it in the net for a 6-3 score. Grant Park served long and it was 7-3. A winner by HF makes it 8-3 but a kill by Madison Gossett of GP and the score is 8-4. An over serve by GP and the score moved to 9-4. Another point for HF and it was 10-4. GP called a time out. An over serve long out of bounds by HF makes it 10-5 and after a point for GP, the score was 10-6. HF hits a return out of bounds and now the score is 10-7 but a service error by GP mkaes it 11-7. Jordan Rogers of HF served next but after a long volley, GP got the side out, 11-8. GP served into the net making the score, 12-8. An ace by Wooden made it 13-8, Erin Hettinger had a kill to make it 14-8, another ace Rogers pushed the lead to 15-8, HF scored on a nice hit,a nd then GP hit a return into the net to make the score 17-8. Clemons tries a back row kill but her attempt went into the net and the score was 17-9. GP served but bad communication by HF gave GP a point and it was 17-10. A kill by HF gets teh side out and moved the score to 18-10. HF's next serve went OB and it was 18-11. On GP's next serve, Poby got a kill and the score was now 18-12. Two consecutive aces by Ali Thiesen and it was 18-14. HF is able to get a side out to move the score to 19-14. A lift call on a kill attempt by GP made it 20-14. GP could not handle the serve and it was 21-14. GP called a time out. Another service winner made it 22-14 but then GP got a side out to bring the score to 22-15 in favor of HF. HF got a side out to make it 23-15 but GP came back with a side out to make it 23-16. A kill attempt by Gossett went long to make 24-16 and when GP could not handle the Clemons' next serve, HF won game one, 25-16.

GP jumps to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd game but a long hit give HF a side out and a tie at 1-1. Winner by HF makes it 2-1. Long kill attempt by GP #12 and it is 3-1. Service error by #44 HF and it is 3-2, Side out and it is 4-2 HF. #56 HF serving, ball drops in the middle of three GP players for a point, a long hit by GP, and a great block by # 32 HF makes it 7-2. Lift call makes it 8-2. Service winner by #56 and it is 9-2. Time out by GP. After the time out HF gets five straight points to take a commanding 12-2 lead. HF gets a net violation call for a 12-3 score and then GP gets a point to make it 12-4. But Clemons has another of her devestating kills for a 13-4 HF lead. With HF #24 serving HF gets one point followed by GP side out for a 14-5 score. Net violation by HF when the kill attempt was going out of bounds made the score 14-6. Aother GP point and it is 14-7. Yet another net violation by HF and now GP has it at 14-9. Great serve by #15 and it is 14-10...HF calls time out. Poor passing by HF and another point for GP, 14-11. Powerful serve by #15 and four hits by HF makes it 14-12. A net violation this time by GP stops the run and HF leads 15-12. The two teams trade service errors so the score is 16-13. Clemons hits her serve in the net and now it is 16-14. Gp serving and on a return they are called for a lift so the score is 17-14 HF. #32 gets point to give a small cushion at 18-14...another point pushes the lead to 19-14 and when #12 GP puts her kill attempt in the net it is 20-14. Four hits by GP extends the lead to 21-14 and GP calls a time out. Another four hit call against GP makes it 22-14 and a kill attempt that goes long made it 23-14. When #23 hit is in the net #32 serves for the match win. Her serve is solid and the return goes off the basketball upright to give Decatur Holy Family a spot in the championship match against Lexington. Maggie Good served the last eight points of game #2.
