Match Comments: The first game started off with both teams recording several side out points. With the Mendon Unity leading 11-10, Amber Brashears came in and served 4 straight points to extend the lead to 15-10. Teams traded sideout points until the score reached 18-14 when Stew-Stras finally gained a point on a serve. With the score 22-19 Ashley Brooks for Unity got a service ace but then served long to make it 23-20 Mendon. Kayla Mummel for Stew-Stras got two service points, one of them on a mis-hit by Mendon and then a service ace which made the score 23-22 in favor of Mendon. A sideout winner by Mendon made it 24-22 but Stew-Stras got a sideout to make it 24-23. Down by one and serving to tie the game, Rachel Rush made sure that did not happen. A powerful kill at the net by Rush gave the first game to Mendon. The second game was close but three consecutive service points by Tallcott and four more by Brashears gave Unity a nice cushion and a victory. Unity will now face Lexington in the first semifinal match
