Game Comments: The first semi-final of the evening pitted the Indians of Lewistown against the Saints of Bloomington Holy Trinity. The Saints got out to a quick lead in the first with a swarming press and pressure within the lane. Addie Loeffler scored 9 points in the first half for the Saints. The Saints pressure defense held the Indians to 4 points in the first half. Lewistown came out of the halftime break with renewed energy. They found the key to breaking the Saint press and capitalized on their fast-break opportunities. Mackenzie Goldring and Ashlyn Towery tossed in 8 points for the Indians in the third quarter to cut the Saint lead. The Saints saw a 20 point halftime lead slip to 5 as the fourth quarter ticked away. Trisha Shawgo hit a huge 3 point basket to keep the Indians in striking distance. The Indians did their best to send the game to overtime by cutting the lead to 3 and holding the Saints scoreless in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, time ran out on the Indians. Addis Loeffler finished with 13 for the Saints. Mackenzie Goldring finished with 12 points for the Indians.
Lewistown Central will play in the Consolation game on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Bloomington Holy Trinity will play in the Championship game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. |
