Game Comments: The last semi-final featured the Rockets of Rochester against the Meteors of Mokena. The Meteors got out to an early lead in the first quarter. Rachael Toepfer sparked the Meteors scoring all 6 of her points in the first quarter. The Meteors stopped this inside attack of the Rockets and they finished the first with the lead. The Rockets recovered their footing in the second quarter going back to their inside game. They went in to the halftime break with a slight lead on the Meteors. In the second half, the Rockets turned up their pressure out rebounding the Meteors on both sides of the court. The Meteors battled back in the fourth behind a key three-point basket by Hayley Papoccia. Both teams turned to their benches in the late stages of the fourth. Katie Nika led the Rockets with 12 points. Rachael Toepfer led the Meteors with 6 points.
Mokena will play New Lenox in the Consolation game on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Rochester will play Normal Kingsley in the Championship game of Thursday at 7:30 p.m. |
