Game Comments: The third place match-up between the Tigers of Gardner/South Wilmington and Falcons of Springfield Little Flower was slow starting for both teams. The Tigers plan was to play a zone defense and fall in on 00 Gianni Perkins and make Little Flower beat them from the perimeter. Little Flower struggled to get into a rhythm on offense and both teams fell into a perimeter game in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Falcons press caused some problems for the Tigers ball handlers, but the Falcons failed to capitalize on the turnovers and the Tigers maintained their lead into the half. After the half, Gardner/South Wilmington saw some key points from #12 Sydney Perkins and #21 Celia Barna to extend their lead going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Tigers put on the pressure and press Little Flower who was plagued with turnovers. Leading scorer for the game was #21 Celia Barna with 14 points.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season.
