Game Comments: The first quarterfinal match-up saw the Cardinals of Hamilton take on the Chargers of Atwood-Hammond. The Chargers took an early lead as the Cardinals worked out some jitters. Atwood –Hammond dissected Hamilton’s press and got some easy lay-ups early on, but Hamilton came back with 8 unanswered points to cut the lead to 3. The second quarter saw Atwood-Hammond start to pull away with their press and aggressive defense. The scored double digit points in the first three quarters of the game. There were three players in double digits for the game. Leading scorer was Atwood-Hammond’s #23 Payton Wellbaum. # 3 added 10 points for the Chargers. #4 Brianna Dean lead the Cardinals with 12 points.
Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game and to Hamilton on a great season. Atwood-Hammond will play in the semi-final game tonight at 5pm.
