Game Comments: The final quarterfinal played today had the Tigers of Rantoul St. Malachy facing off against the Wildcats of Bourbonnais Maternity BVM. A slow start to the game for both teams quickly changed in the second quarter. The Tigers began to run their offense and saw key points from #30 Kayonna Bufford. #12 Kennedy Weight for Bourbonnais had 11 of her 21 game high points in the first half. She was a one woman machine as she brought the ball up and drove the lane time and time again. In the second half St. Malachy saw a more balanced attack as they got points from all five of their starters and #13 Andie Bolton settled into her game. Andie was leading scorer for Rantoul, but the team played a more balanced offense and found a way to slow down Bourbonnais offense.
Congratulations to Bourbonnais Maternity BVM on a great season.
Rantoul St. Malachy will face Springfield Little Flower in the 6:30 semi-final game tonight.
