Game Comments: The second quarterfinal game pitted the Tigers of Gardner against the Irish of Washington St. Patrick. Some early jitters on both teams had the ball all over the court in this quarterfinal match-up. St. Patrick took advantage of some key turnovers to take the early lead, but the Tigers kept it close. Gardner stormed back in the second half with ferocious intensity. They took the lead in the fourth quarter and tightened the noose on defense. Foul trouble plagued St. Patrick in the second half and Gardner put it away at the line going 8-10 in the fourth quarter. Leading scorer of the game was #20 Abby Weisbruch of Washington St. Patrick with 16 points. #21 Celia Barna for Gardner was close behind her with 15 points.
Congratulations to Washington St. Patrick on a great season. Good Luck to the Tigers as they take on Atwood-Hammond in the first semi-final match-up tonight at 5:00pm.
