| Game Comments: The Pana Sacred Heart St. Pats would take the floor against the Washington St. Patrick Irish to decide who was going to take home the third place trophy. Both teams would battle back and forth in the first quarter to see who could grab control of the contest. It looked like the St. Pats were going to have a lead going into the second. But the Irish had Anna McCaughey who hit a three before the quarter ended to give her team the lead back. Anna would hit another jump shot to get the Irish going in the second. Laurel Funneman hit a three for the St. Pats to help cut the deficit to two. But the Irish would extend the lead to six at the half. Defense was the name of the game in the second half. The St. Pats’ Renee Waddington tried to draw her team closer with a layup in the third. But the Irish were just too much tonight. Sydney Bina would make a nice shot in the post to go up five and seal the third place victory for the Irish. The St. Pats will head home with fourth place honors. Congratulations to both teams on great seasons. |
