Game Comments: It was the Washington St. Patrick Irish taking on the Elmwood Park St. Celestine Celtics in the first semifinal action of the night. For the second time today it was Annie McKenna’s hot hand getting the Celtics off to a fast start. She scored 12 points in the first quarter. Sydney Bina and Abby Weisbruch who helped get the Irish offense going in the second quarter. Defense for both sides picked up in the second quarter, but the Celtics still held a 23-5 lead going into the half. The Celtics’ Kaitlin Aylward scored four points of her own in the third to help the offense. The Celtics would go on to win the game by a final score of 43-23. They will play in the championship game next Thursday night at 7:30. The Washington St. Patrick Irish will play for third place honors at 6:00 p.m. Congratulations to both teams on a tremendous game.
