Game Comments: The Tonica Braves took on the Elmwood Park St. Celestine Celtics in the second quarterfinal match of the day. The Celtics ran out of the gates and shocked the Braves early. The Celtics’ Annie McKenna scored 16 first quarter points to lead her team to a 19 point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Braves were just not able to get it going during the second quarter and still trailed at the half. The Braves’ Alexa Zimbelman scored six points in the third but it would not be enough. The Celtics went on to win the game by a final score of 52-34. They will advance to the semifinals later today at 5:00 p.m. to take on Washington St. Patrick. Congratulations to Tonica on a terrific season.
