| Game Comments: The final semifinal game of the night was a matchup between the Rantoul St. Malachy Tigers and the Tonica Braves. The Tigers exploded out of the gates with three early steals and a 10-2 lead. The Braves’ Aydrianah Carter hit a layup to cut into the lead heading into the second quarter. The Tigers’ Andie Bolton would open the quarter with a nice jump shot. But the Braves turned up the defense and only allowed one more basket the entire quarter. The Tigers lead was cut to four heading into the half. The story of third quarter was defense for both teams. The Tigers’ Kaia Bowen stepped up and hit two big free throws during the quarter. The Tigers would put the pressure on in the fourth and extend the lead for good. They will advance to the championship game where they will meet Atwood-Hammond next Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. The Braves will play in the third place game at 6:00 p.m. |
