Game Comments: The Bulldogs of Calumet Park took on the Dragons of Hillsboro in the first semi-final match-up. Hillsboro continued in the beginning of the second quarter, but late in the half Calumet Park went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 4 at the half.
The second half had both teams came out of the locker-room hot. Calumet Park tied the game twice, but Hillsboro was able to bring the lead back to four at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter again was a battle as Calumet fought to take the lead. With 2:20 to play the Bulldogs tied it at 45 apiece. The teams traded baskets then with 36 seconds to play #32 Moore was on the line to take the lead and drained both shots. Calumet Park drove the court and got several looks, but with ten seconds to play they turned the ball over and had to foul Hillsboro again on the inbound. #42 Gregg drained both his shots to give Hillsboro a four point lead that they would not relinquish.
Leading scorer for the game was #32 Donovan Moore with 25 points. Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game. Calumet Park will play in the third place game and Hillsboro will play for their first state 8-2A title on Thursday night.
