Game Comments: The first 8-3A quarterfinal match up saw the Farmers of Farmington Central against the Bulldogs of Calumet Park. Both teams took a while to settle into a rhythm in the first four minutes of the game. Most of the scoring in the first quarter took place in the last two minutes with Calumet Park having a slight 2 point lead with #34 Jarod DePriest of Farmington scored a basket at the buzzer to cut the lead.
The second half started with a long three by #34 Wayne Pierson of Calumet Park, but DePriest of Farmington answered right back with a long three of his own, but the momentum was with the Bulldogs who outscored the Farmers 19-11 in the third quarter. The Bulldogs kept their lead in the fourth as the coaches cleared their benches.
Leading scorer for the game was Wayne Pierson of Calumet Park and Jarod DePriest with Farmington. Both boys had 14 points for the game. Calumet Park also had two other players with 12 points apiece; Deshawn Alexander and Terrell Richmond. Congratulations to Farmington on a great season. Calumet Park will play in the 5:00 semifinal game tonight.
