Game Comments: In the Consolation game, the Jaguars of Springfield Jefferson faced the Kays of Kankakee JHS. The game began with a hectic pace as both teams worked to get in to an offensive rhythm. In the first quarter, Lamontay Daughtery led the scoring drive for the Jaguars scoring 6 of his 18 points. The Kays looked outside the arc for their early scoring opportunities and it was Tyler Hiller who had 8 points early for Kankakee. Both teams were balanced throughout the second quarter as well and Kankakee went into the halftime break with a slight lead. In the second half, Daughtery scored early for the Jaguars and dropped in 6 points in the third quarter. This opened a one point lead for the Jaguars as the third quarter closed. The Jaguars ramped up their defensive pressure and took advantage of some turnover early in the fourth. This generated some offensive momentum for the Jaguars and they kept the lead as the clock wound down. The Kays were led by Tyler Hiller with 10 points. The Jaguars were led by Lamontay Daughtery with 18 points.
Congratulations to Kankakee JHS who finishes their season in fourth place with a record of 18-3.
Congratulations to Springfield Jefferson who finishes their season in third place with a record of 16-7. |
