Game Comments: The third quarterfinal of the day was a battle of two halves. The Senators of Joliet Dirksen faced off against the Bulldogs of Bellwood Roosevelt. Both teams stayed even in the first quarter. Joliet Dirksen relied on their three point shot to keep them in the game early. KeVon Johnson, Cameron Blackmon, and Donald Stevens all had three point baskets for the Senators. The Bulldogs looked to Jalen Boyd to capture the lead. Boyd had 9 point in the first quarter. Willante Williams caught fire for the Bulldogs in the second quarter. Williams had three 3 point baskets in the second quarter. The Bulldogs went in to the half-time break with a 6 point lead. The Bulldogs extended their lead in the third quarter behind the shooting of Marquees Becton who had 6 points in the third quarter. Jason Gall had two 3 point baskets for the Senators in the third to keep Dirksen close. The fourth quarter belonged to the Senators. The Senators combined to score 23 points in the fourth quarter much of it behind the shooting of Johnson who had 15 points in the fourth quarter. The Senators narrowed the gap and then tied the game as the clocked ticked away. Williams hit a huge basket with 15 seconds remaining putting the Bulldogs up by 2. The Senators got one more shot at the basket but could not convert.
Johnson finished with 24 points for Joliet Dirksen. Boyd also ended with 24 points for the Bulldogs.
