Game Comments: The championship game pitted Altamont against the defending champions Decatur Robertson. Robertson took a quick lead, but Altamont battled back in the quarter to within one point. The second quarter saw a battle for every ball from both teams. Altamont got on the boards this quarter and was able to stay within three going into the half.
The second half saw Robertson quickness, pressure and steals converted into lay-ups throughout the half. Decatur started to build their lead to 10 in the third quarter. The final quarter saw Decatur expand on their lead and win their second consecutive 8-2A state title with their patented high pressure defense and quick steals. Leading scorer for the game was #3 Deion Norfleet with 18 points. #10 Stefon Jarrett was also in double figures with 12 points. #44 Evan Cornett and #45 Dakota Shepard had 8 points apiece for Altamont.
Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game and a great season.
