Match Comments: The Eagles of Buckley St. John took on the Titans of Tri-County in the first semi-final match-up. The Eagles were led by #27 Kelsey Schroeder and #16 Kaitlyn Weber at the net while #22 Alison Smith and #13 Korey Balch led the Titans at the net. The Titans took the first match on the serving of 5 different players. The second set saw the Titans take an early lead on the serving of #15 Andrea Stiff, but the Eagles were able to bring themselves back into the match on the net play of Schroeder who had multiple kills in the match to give the Eagles the lead. Oakland fought back but was unable to take the lead back. The match came down to the final set once again today. The two teams battled back and forth throughout the set trading the lead. Both teams started to look a little tired and seemed to have some communication and passing errors. Titans had kills from multiple players this set and the Eagles were once again led by Schroeder and Weber.
The Eagles will once again play in the 3rd place match on Tuesday night at 5:3 and the Titans will play for their 1st 8-1A state title on Tuesday night at 6:45.
