Match Comments: In the final quarterfinal of the day, the Lewistown Indians used two aggressive comebacks to defeat the Dragons of Grant Park Middle School two games to none. Game one looked to belong to the Dragons from the get go, as they led by a comfortable four point margin mid-way through. Samantha English tallied three aces as well as five service points for her Dragons, as Grant Park was in control. Back came Lewistown however, as the fierce serving from Ashlyn Towery powered an Indian comeback. Once down 15-11, Lewistown scored nine consecutive points and eventually took home game one by a final of 25-18. Not shaken by the comeback efforts of the Indians, Grant Park once again took control early in game two, this time building an impressive 19-12 lead. But again, Towery and company swung the momentum back in their favor thanks to some impressive serves by #34. The surge created by Lewistown would prove to be too much for the Dragons to withstand, dropping game two by a final of 25-21. Ashlyn Towery finished the two games with a combined eight aces and an incredible 19 service points, while teammate Cassidy Barr finished with two aces of her own as well as five service points.
The victory sends Lewistown to a showdown with this afternoon's previous winner in Bloomington Holy Trinity. Game time for tonight's second semi-final contest begins at 5:15 p.m.
