Match Comments: The first quarterfinal match-up pitted the Eagles of Liberty against the Honeybears of Mt. Pulaski. Liberty came strait out the gates ready to play. The jumped out to a quick lead and then 13 Ashley Lefringhouse stepped up to serve. Ashley served 11 strait service points with 6 aces and gave the Eagles a 17-4 lead. Mt. Pulaski struggled early with their passing game and never really got their offense going. Liberty took advantage and their offense was right on. 30 Madelyn Hyer was big for the Eagles up the middle and all the Eagles were there to dig anything the Honeybears threw at them. In the second set, the teams traded points and the Honeybears put more of an attack together getting 28 Lily Picket into the match. Liberty took a small lead but 24 Alex Bowles stepped up to serve and tied the set at 14 a piece. Several servers stepped up to give Liberty a 24-18 lead, but the Honeybears 17 Maddy Davis stepped up to serve and took Mt. Pulaski to 24-23. But Madelyn Hyer stepped up with a huge block to give the eagles the win. Liberty will play in the 1:00 semi-final match.
