Game Comments: The third place match-up saw the Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty take on the Falcons of Rockford Flinn. The Falcons were first on the board with two great baskets by their center Thomaiya Cooper. Cooper continued to dominate the boards in the first quarter. Their pressure defense befuddled Liberty who struggled to find a rhythm in the first half. Rockford continued their motion offense in the second half, working the ball into their posts for quick lay-ups and dominating the boards on both ends of the court. Leading scorer for the game was #33 Ambranette Storr with 16 points.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season. This is Rockford Flinn’s first 7-4A third place state trophy.
