Game Comments: In the Class 1A Third Place Championship Game, the Wildcats of Springfield Christian outlasted Pana Sacred Heart by the final score of 30-23. Early on, it was the defense of the Wildcats that appeared to throw Pana Sacred Heart off their game. Maddie Manker and her nine first half points fueled the Wildcat's offense early, and eventually carried them into the half leading 15-8. The third quarter was much of the same, as the stifling defense of Springfield Christian continued to limit Pana offensively. That was until the fourth quarter, when the St. Pat's offense finally came alive aided by some quick turnovers by the Wildcats. Back-to-back buckets by Kaylee Holland and Shania Schoonover cut the Wildcat lead to just 6 with 2:30 minutes to play. It wasn't to be, however, as the Pana offense stalled while Springfield Christian capitalized on their chances from the charity stripe. Maddie Manker was the game's leading scorer with 16 points, while Shania Schoonover led the way for St. Pats with 13 points.

Congratulations to both teams on a tremendous tournament and terrific seasons!
