| Game Comments: The Panthers of St. Joseph captured 3rd place in the IESA 8th grade Class 3A girls basketball tournament Thursday night with a come-from-behind victory over the Knights of Wenona Fieldcrest. Trailing for most of the game, the Panthers outscored the Knights 8-3 in the 4th quarter giving St. Joe a 30-28 victory. Leading the way for St. Joseph was Kylie Michael who scored 22 of her team's 30 points. Fieldcrest could only manage one bucket and one free throw in the 4th quarter as they had several shots to tie and even take the lead but the ball simply would not drop for the Knights. St. Joseph finishes the 2012 season with 20 wins and four losses while Fieldcrest closes their season with 22 wins and 6 losses. Congratulations to both teams. |
