| Game Comments: The Monticello Sages advance to the championship game of the 8th grade class 3A tournament by defeating the Knights of Wenona Fieldcrest, 32-21 and in doing so will be looking to capture both the 7th grade and 8th grade IESA girls basketball titles. The 7th grade Monticello team won the 3A championship last Thursday evening. The Sages played a steady game in this victory and they were led in scoring by Emma Reeder with 11 while Rachael Lockmiller chipped in 10 points. Gewn Lohr Fondel and Sam Forrest led the Knights with seven points each and they will now play in the 3rd place game on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6:00 p.m. while Monticello will play for the title at 7:30 that evening. |
