| Game Comments: The Sages of Monticello Middle School advance to the senifinals of the 3A tournament with a hard fought, 26-25 victory over the Hillsboro Dragons. They will now play Wenona Fieldcrest at 5:00 p.m. tonight in the first semifinal contest of the evening. Monticello led 24-17 after three quarters but Hillsboro's defense and press in the fourth quarter brought them to within one point with 20 seconds to go. The Dragons inbounded the ball under their own basket but Monticello stole the inbounds pass but then quickly turned it over giving the Dragons the ball with 13 seconds left in the game. Hillsboro attempted a 3 pointer to win the game but the shot was off the mark. After a time-out with just three seconds to go, Monticello threw the ball long to their end of the court and time ran out giving the Sages the victory. Congratulations to both teams. |
