| Game Comments: Chatham Glenwood captured 3rd place in the 2012 IESA 7th grade class 4A girls basketball tournament with a terrific come from behind victory over the Mokena Meteors. Glenwood finishes their season with a final record of 22 wins and 5 losses while Mokena closes out their season with 21 wins and 5 losses. Glenwood entered the final quarter trailing 23-17 but their defense came alive in the final stanza as they held Meteors scoreless in the quarter. Ciara Lahr scored on a layup with 3:46 left in the game to bring Glenwood to within 2 at 23-21. Both teams had several turnovers in the next 1 1/2 minutes as neither team scored. Glenwood then got a layup from Makenzie Bray to tie the score with 2:12 left in the game. Both teams then turned the ball over on 7 consecutive possesions. With 59 seconds left in the game, Bray was fouled while shooting and made both free throws to give the Titans a 25-23 lead. Neither team was able to score the rest of the way as Chatham outscored Mokena 8-0 in the last period to claim the victory. Congratulations to both teams. |
