| Game Comments: The Edwardsville Liberty Panthers continued their perfect season Saturday night with a 30-15 semifinal victory over Mokena. Liberty will now play in the championship game on Thursday, December 6 at 7:30 against the winner of the Morton JHS/Chatham Glenwood contest. Mokena will play for 3rd place honors on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against the loser of the Morton vs. Chatham contest. The game was fairly close throughout but Mokena simply did not have an answer for Rachel Pranger. She dominated the game finishing with 24 points on 8 field goals and 8 free throws. Liberty led by five at the end of the 3rd quarter, 20-15 but the Panthers held Mokena scoreless in the 4th quarter while scoring 10 points of their own to clain a 15 point victory. The Meteors will take a 21-4 record into the 3rd place game while Liberty will be looking for an undefeated season and a 7th grade state championship. Good luck to both teams on Thursday. |
