Both teams looked nervous in the first quarter but settled in during the second. The fast break of the Lady Monarchs put them up early in the second quarter. This built a lead for the Monarchs that the Panthers struggled to overcome. Amara Graham had the hot hand for the Monarchs in the first half contributing 10 of her 11 points. Abby Hofer was solid at the free-throw line for the Panthers in the first half leading her team early with 7 points. It was a slow start for both teams coming out of half-time. The Panthers settled down in the fourth and put on a run late in the game. The Lady Monarch defense held on and finished the game strong. Graham led South Holland with 11 points and Nadia Green had 10 points. Hofer led the Panthers with 9 points and Kellyn Maynard had 8 points. Congratulations to both schools on their outstanding sportsmanship.
