| Game Comments: The final semifinal matchup saw the Cavaliers of Kingsley and the Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty a replay last year’s championship game. In the first quarter Edwardsville kept the pace slow and the panthers stayed within three points of the Cavaliers. But in the second quarter the Kingsley picked up their pressure defense; holding the Panthers scoreless and added 15 points of their own from multiple scorers. #22 Claire Weber had five of her nine total points in the second quarter taking the Cavaliers into the locker room at halftime with an 18 point lead. The deficit proved to be too much for the Panthers to overcome. Edwardsville will play for the third place game at 6:00 on Thursday. The Cavaliers will play for their second consecutive state title at 7:30. |
