| Game Comments: The first game of the day was played between the Indians of Minooka and the Vikings of New Lenox Martino. Both teams tried to control nerves in the first quarter of the game with turnovers and a low score being prevalent. In the second quarter, both settled down and Minooka took the halftime lead at 14-11. After halftime New Lenox came out fired up and took the lead back from Minooka. They played hard and aggressive and added points from several players. In the fourth quarter the nerves came back as the teams stayed within 1-2 points of each other. The Vikings had the lead with 10 seconds to play, but #5 Madalyn Odette scored the go ahead basket for the Indians with 5.7 seconds to play. New Lenox quickly inbounded the ball and #34 Haykey Holmes drove the court to be fouled by the Indians. She missed the front end of a one and one and Minooka grabbed the rebound. Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game. Minooka will play again tonight at 5pm in the first semifinal match-up. |
