Game Comments: In the Consolation game, the Tigers of Glasford Illini Bluffs faced the Falcons of Gibson City. The Falcons got out to a quick lead with great ball movement and quick defense. The Falcons outscored the Tigers 18-4 in the first quarter. Bryce Barnes dropped in 6 points in the first quarter for Gibson City. The Tigers shook off their nerves in the second quarter and put on a shooting show of their own. Reid Sondgeroth and Cam Scott both had 3 point baskets that helped cut the lead as the teams went in to the halftime break. In the third quarter, both teams still had hot hands. Buddy Randle knocked in two three-point baskets for the Tigers and pushed his team to within 6 points as the third quarter closed. As the fourth quarter opened, the Falcons swooped into action controlling the ball and the boards. Connor Birkey had 6 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter and this scoring run closed out the game.
Congratulations to both teams on outstanding seasons! |
