Game Comments: The final game of the night was a nail biter. The Dragons of Hillsboro faced off against the Falcons of Gibson City. Gibson City got out to an early lead behind the sharp shooting of Ben Freehill who had 12 of his 22 points in the first half. Hillsboro found their rhythm in the second quarter and came up with a big shot at the buzzer to tie the game at the end of the half. Donovan Moore scored 11 of his 21 points in the first half for the Dragons.
GCMS got behind in the third quarter as Moore dumped in 8 points in the third quarter. The Falcons rallied in the fourth and cut the lead of the Dragons as time was running off the clock. The Falcons had a chance to tie the game at the line, but the attempt fell just short.
Freehill finished with 22 points for GCMS. Moore finished with 21 points for Hillsboro.
GCMS will play Glasford Illini Bluffs in the Consolation game on Thursday.
Hillsboro will play Washington Central in the Championship game on Thursday. |
