| 2025 IESA Girls Softball State Finals Begin This Friday in Normal

Normal, IL – The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) is excited to announce that the 47th annual Girls Softball State Tournaments will be held this weekend, September 19-20, at Champion Fields in Normal. This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the tournament will feature three classes: 1A, 2A, and 3A.
Over 300 schools participated in this competitive state series, commencing at the regional level. The games will kick off on Friday with staggered starting times by class. The schedule is as follows:
Class 1A Quarterfinals: Begins Friday at 9:30 a.m.
Class 2A Quarterfinals: Begins Friday at 10:00 a.m.
Class 3A Quarterfinals: Begins Friday at 10:30 a.m.
Winners from the quarterfinals will advance to the semifinal games on Saturday morning, with the third-place and championship games scheduled for Saturday afternoon:
Class 1A Semifinals begin at 9:30 a.m. (Third-place game at 1:30 p.m., Championship at 3:30 p.m.)
Class 2A Semifinals begin at 10:00 a.m. (Third-place game at 2:00 p.m., Championship at 4:00 p.m.)
Class 3A Semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m. (Third-place game at 2:30 p.m., Championship at 4:30 p.m.)
Teams that win their quarterfinal games on Friday will play twice on Saturday. Tickets for the event can be purchased through GoFan, with digital ticket prices set at $8.00 per day. Fans can access the IESA GoFan page here. For those who prefer cash purchases, tickets will be available at the venue for $10.00 each day. Admission is free for children younger than kindergarten.

The IESA girls softball program, established in 1978, was originally a one-class state series until 2001. The competition evolved to Class A and Class AA, featuring eight teams in each class by 2001. In 2021, the tournament transitioned to three classes—1A, 2A, and 3A—maintaining the eight-team format for the state finals.
