2025 IESA Bowling State Tournament to Welcome Over 370 Student Athletes in Joliet
The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) is thrilled to announce the tenth annual IESA Bowling State Tournament, set to take place at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet on April 11 & 12, 2025. This prestigious event will feature over 370 student athletes from more than 70 IESA member schools, competing in what is recognized as the largest known Scratch Varsity Middle School event in the country.

Since the introduction of sectional competitions in 2018, the tournament has seen unprecedented growth and interest. This year, bowlers qualified through competitions held at four sectional sites across Illinois. The top six teams from each sectional and the top 12 individual bowlers not on a qualifying team will compete in the state finals.

The tournament will showcase both a boys and a girls division. Each contestant will compete in a preliminary round on Friday, bowling four games. The qualifying field for the finals will consist of the top 10 teams and the top 32 individual bowlers who are not associated with a qualifying team. Results will be updated live on www.iesa.org following each round, ensuring fans can cheer on their favorites in real time.

The finals on Saturday will consist of six games, with awards being presented based on participants’ combined totals across the 10-game format. Both team and individual awards will be distributed, with trophies for the top three teams and medals awarded to the top 15 individual bowlers.

Action kicks off on Friday at 9:00 a.m. for the girls and 1:40 p.m. for the boys. Saturday's finals will commence with the second round at 9:15 a.m., followed by the third-round half an hour after the second round concludes, culminating in the awards ceremony at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Fans wishing to attend the tournament may purchase digital tickets via GoFan. Digital tickets are priced at $8.00 for each day. For those unable to purchase digital tickets, cash sales will be available on-site for $10. Children younger than kindergarten are admitted free of charge. To ensure a seamless attendance experience, wristbands will be issued to fans upon entry.

In the event of inclement weather, any updates regarding the tournament schedule will be available on the IESA website at www.iesa.org.
