IESA Headlines

IESA Moderator Webinar Scheduled For Tuesday, February 11

Due to the inclement weather on Wednesday, February 5, the Scholastic Bowl Moderator Webinar has been postponed. The webinar will now take place on Tuesday, February 11 at 4pm. The presentation will be run by longtime IESA state moderator Jack Small, and will include questions and answers throughout.

We are strongly encouraging each member school to have anyone who currently serves as a moderator for their local matches to watch this webinar and also “recruit” at least one other person who is interested in becoming a moderator to watch the webinar as well.  This will be an excellent opportunity for scholastic bowl moderators to receive hands-on training and tips for becoming a better moderator.

The webinar will primarily focus on the key commands and instructions when moderating a scholastic bowl match. Additional topics to be discussed include a guide to starting and ending a match, in-game scenarios you may face, assessing sportsmanship, tips before your first match, information regarding Slam-In Systems and much more!

The webinar, like all in the series, is free to view for anyone interested and is available for registration below:

Online Registration

NOTE: You do not have to re-register for the webinar due to the date change.

For more information regarding the webinar presentation or the scholastic bowl activity, please contact John Venerable at 309-829-0114 or john@iesa.org.
