IESA HeadlinesPatrick Bodame To Join IESA Full-Time Staff August 2Patrick Bodame will join the full-time staff of the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) as its first Administrative Specialist August 2, 2010. A native of Gurnee, Bodame (pronounced Bo Dahm) was selected for the new position by Steve Endsley, Executive Director of the IESA. Bodame's position will be finalized by the IESA Board of Directors at their next meeting on June 18. He will have activity administration responsibility and other duties in the general operation of the Association. Bodame will be the staff member responsible for track and field in the spring, bowling in the winter and an activity to be determined in the fall. "Our Association will experience significant growth in the number of sports and activities it offers to the students in our nearly 770 member schools and Pat will strengthen our full-time staff," said Endsley. "We had a number of qualified candidates. We are excited that Pat's career path has led him to IESA. He believes in the mission of the IESA and with his background he will literally hit the ground running. I consider it our good fortune that Pat was interested in joining our team." IESA will conduct state tournament competition in bowling and chess for the first time during the 2010-11 school year and will add golf, boys volleyball and soccer. Bodame earned his master's degree in Sports Management from Illinois State University this spring and his bachelor's degree in Recreation Management in 2008. For the past two years he was an Illinois State graduate assistant in Redbird Athletics and the Office of Equal Opportunity, Ethics and Access. He also was an athletics marketing intern for Redbird Athletics during the spring semester of the 2009-10 school year. |
