IESA Girls Volleyball State Final Tournaments Postponed

The semifinals, third place and championship matches in the 2006 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 8A and Class 8AA Girls State Volleyball Tournaments scheduled for Tuesday (March 21) have been postponed because of snow and hazardous conditions.

Matches in the two tournaments . Class 8A at Bloomington Central Catholic.s gym and Class 8AA at Stephen Decatur Middle School -- have been rescheduled for Wednesday (March 22).

Semifinal matches at both sites will be played at 3:30 and 4:45 p.m. Third place matches will be at 6:00 p.m. and the title match is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

At Bloomington the semifinal pairings are Lewistown Central (18-7) vs. Pawnee at 3:30 and Mt. Pulaski (26-1) vs. Peoria Limestone Walters (25-1) at 4:45.

At Stephen Decatur the semifinal pairings are Homer Glen Homer (18-9) vs. East St. Louis Clark (21-4) at 3:30 and Herscher Limestone (24-3) vs. Normal Chiddix (22-4) at 4:45.
