Megan RobinLake Zurich North![]() Principal: For Megan Robin, good sportsmanship is the key to any big win in your life. In this Lake Zurich North eighth grader's essay on sportsmanship she says keeping emotions in check, and remembering the importance of doing your best no matter the outcome, should be your goal on and off the court. She dwells on the need to participate and lives that mantra with her history of high honor roll, cheerleading awards, track and field and cross-country experience, dance, and helping in her father's business. Megan says helping a teammate who's been hurt and developing diplomacy skills to help fellow athletes work out differences are measures of sportsmanship. She says understanding that the goal in sports is to strive for excellence - not perfection is key to being a great team player. Megan sees herself as a heart surgeon some day and has her sights set on attending the University of Illinois and Johns Hopkins to jumpstart her career. |
