Conner CurryWatseka Glenn Raymond![]() Principal: Mr. Brad Welch Conner Curry credits interscholastic activities for teaching him the importance of being both a quality competitor and humble athlete. For his successes in and out of the classroom, he was selected as the Scholar Attitude Award winner for Board of Directors Division G.In addition to being a 4.0-student, Conner is an avid competitor in baseball, basketball, track, and speech. His involvements have taught him valuable life lessons that apply in various aspects of his life. Conner notes, "Anyone can go out and play a game or compete in a math competition, but to be a quality competitor, you have to give it your all and have respect for the team or person you are competing against." To date, Conner is most proud of his performance at the IESA State Track Meet as a seventh grade athlete. He medaled in two events and was on the school-record breaking 4x400-meter relay team. As a relay team member, Conner learned that discipline and teamwork is the key to success. He notes, "I practiced with my relay teams every day, I also worked on my sprints and exchange timing on the weekends. As a team, we had to pump each other up and believe in each other that we would be our best in every race." Conner hopes to attend the University of Notre Dame after high school to study biology. He aspires to become an orthodontist after graduating from dental school. Conner wishes to provide dental care for those who are less fortunate in the United States and internationally. |
