Megan PtakPrinceville![]() Principal: Mr. Rich Thole Megan Ptak's people-first attitude, leadership skills, and excellence in interscholastic activities has led her to being selected as the Scholar Attitude Award winner for Board of Directors Division F.Throughout junior high school, Megan has consistently been involved in basketball, volleyball, scholastic bowl, mentorship, and various service-related clubs. Additionally, she has held a perfect GPA in seventh and eighth grade. Megan is most proud of when she developed a school-wide tutoring plan as a fifth grader. She wrote a plan, directed to her assistant principal, which outlined the importance of helping younger students and the benefits of peer tutoring. By the end of the school year, Megan read with first-grade struggling readers and tutored third grade students in math. She notes, "It was the best experience and it has stemmed over into my junior high years with peer mentoring. I felt valued and respected for the ideas I had and that an adult was willing to help me fulfill my vision." Similarly, if Megan could make one change in the world it would be to ensure everyone has equal access to education. Megan believes education is the foundational for individuals, communities, and society. She notes, "Life-long learning opportunities are the only way to promote health, family, society, medical developments, and to create peace." Following high school, Megan's goal is to help people and make life better for others. Thus, she hopes to attend Baylor University to study genetics or orthopedic/medical engineering. |
