Game Comments: In the Championship game, the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains met the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis. In the first quarter, Pleasant Plains went up early behind the three-point shooting of Isaac Collins. Collins hit two 3-point baskets to start the momentum for the Cardinals. In the second quarter, the pace was fast and both teams switched gears and ramped up their defense with only 2 field goals being scored for the Wooden Shoes. It was Collins again who came up with a three-point basket for the Cardinals with two minutes left in the second quarter. Cole Greer took control of directing his team and the Cardinals took a lead into the halftime break. In the second half, the Cardinals continued their momentum in the second half. Both teams took their shots behind the arc. Teutopolis looked to the outside shooting of Chris Ungrund to cut the lead. Ungrund hit two three-point baskets late in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to stop the Cardinals. Chris Ungrund finished with 8 points for the Wooden Shoes. Isaac Collins finished with 13 points for Pleasant Plains.
This is back-to-back state championships for this team from Pleasant Plains.
