Game Comments: The Consolation game featured two teams that were evenly matched. The Titans of El Paso-Gridley faced off against the Panthers of St. Joseph. The teams settled into a quick-paced game in the first quarter and stayed even with each other. In the second quarter, the Titans made a comeback by penetrating the lane through great passing. Brody Duncan had 2 key three-point baskets that brought the Titans to within 3 points going in to the halftime break. Brandon Trimble scored 14 points in the first half for the Panthers. In the third quarter, both teams battled back and forth trading baskets and forcing defensive turnovers. Late in the third, St. Joseph got aggressive on offense driving to the basket. Trimble was the only Panther to score in the third quarter with 8 points. In the fourth quarter, El Paso-Gridley was quick to capitalize on turnovers and got right back into the game. It was Duncan again who came up with a key three-point basket to cut the lead of the Panthers. With 1 minute left in the game, El Paso-Gridley cut the lead to 1 point. Tucker Schlipf was fouled on the shot and went to the line for the Titans. Schlipf was rock-solid at the line and made both baskets putting the Titans up by one point with 21.5 seconds left. St. Joseph had the ball and chance to take the game. With the seconds ticking off the clock, Brandon Dable put up a shot for the Panthers and his team watched it hit the bottom of the net and sealed the victory for St. Joseph.

Congratulations to both teams on tremendous seasons and an outstanding game!

The sportsmanship displayed by the players from both teams was outstanding.
