Game Comments: The Indians of Minooka took on the Little Giants of Canton Ingersoll in the 3rd quarterfinal match-up. The Little Giants took an early lead at the start of the game with quick points off turnovers by the Indians. Minooka seemed slow to settle into their game plan. #14 Isaiah Bowers led the Little Giants with some phenomenal guard play. He drove to the basket without hesitation and had all but 5 of Canton’s first half points. Going into the half Canton had a comfortable lead.
In the third quarter Minooka came out of the locker room fired up and had some great post play by #34 Adrian Paige. They kept the game close through most of the quarter giving them a chance to win. In the fourth quarter #12 Keegan Graebner tied the game at 39 for the first time and shortly after #5 Kyle Graebner gave them their first lead of the game. The teams traded points down the court and Canton came back out on top. The problem for Minooka the whole game was they could not find a way to stop Isaiah Bowers. He ended the game with 40 points; destroying the 4A record for most points in a game by 10. He went 6-8 from the free throw line in the quarter and 10-12 for the game. Key steals by Isaiah and free throw shooting helped keep Canton on top at the end of the game.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season. Good Luck to Canton Ingersoll who will play in the 6:30 semifinal matchup tonight.
