Match Comments: The first quarterfinal match-up saw two perrennial power houses take the court. The Mustangs of Chillicothe from 2007-2009 took 1-3 place in every appearance. The Cardinals of Pleasant Plains have placed first or second since 2010. The battle was everything we thought it would be. The first set saw many lead changes and hard play on the court by both teams and a battle back for the Cardinals to take the first set.The Mustangs were led by the net play of #4 Madi Johnson and the serving of #3 Grace Wilmington in the second set. Grace served 8 points in the second set and helped bring the match back to all square for the Mustangs. The final set saw the Cardinals take the lead in the second rotation and not give it back. They continued to get points from multiple players and were led at the net by #22 Molly Gebhards and #15 Jenny Rush. Congratulations to both teams on a great season. The Cardinals will play in the semifinal match today at 1:00.
