Match Comments: In the first quarterfinal of the day, the Tigers of Glasford Illini Bluffs faced the Hawks of Blue Mound Meridian. Both teams worked out the jitters early in the first set, trading serves and passing errors. Offensively, Lauren Sefried sparked the Hawks with 2 kills and a block. Laenie Swardenski did her best to keep the Tigers in the set with 2 kills and a block as well. Taylor Kirby served out the first set for the Hawks. In the second set, the Hawks kept their momentum. At the net, Kirby caught fire with 4 kills for the Hawks. Her offensive attack combined with the tough serving of her teammates was enough to close out the match for Blue Mound Meridian.
