| Game Comments: The third game of the 7th grade Class 1A tournament was a thriller as the Wolverines of Lincoln West Lincoln-Broadwell used a fourth quarter rally to defeat the Hilltoppers of Danville Schlarman by the score of 34-31. The Wolverines, who are now 19-0, will play in the second semifinal contest of the day at approximately 6:30 p.m. This game was a see saw affair as Schlarman led 12-7 at the half only to have WLB outscore the Hilltoppers 11-2 in the 3rd period to take an 18-14 lead into the 4th quarter. At one point in time in the 4th quarter, Schlarman held a 28-23 lead. The Wolverines then rattled off 10 consecutive points to take a 33-28 lead. Leading the charge for WLB during that span was Leah Schneider as she scored 13 of her game high 28 points in the 4th stanza. Capria Brown also had a strong 4th quarter for Schlarman as she also had 13 points in the final period. A good ball game by two very good teams. Congratulations to both teams. |
