Game Comments: In the second semi-final of the night, the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis met the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains. Both teams spent much of the first quarter playing denying defense. The Cardinals stepped up their offensive attack in the second quarter behind the shooting of Maddie Dorsett and McKenzie Smith. Coming out of the halftime break, the Wooden Shoes stepped up their offense behind the shooting of Savannah Grimes and Emma Deters. The Wooden Shoes chipped away at the Cardinal lead throughout the second half and cut the lead to within 5 with 2 minutes left in the game. Grimes hit a huge 3 late in the fourth to cut the Cardinal lead to 3 points. The Cardinals took care of the ball and time expired. The Wooden Shoes were led in scoring by Grimes with 13 points. The Cardinals were led by Smith with 11 points.
Teutopolis will play in the Consolation game on Thursday.
Pleasant Plains will play in the Championship on Thursday. |
