Game Comments: In the first match-up of the day the Dragons of Hillsboro met the Hornets of Lockport Kelvin Grove. Kelvin Grove got out to an early lead on the Dragons behind the shooting of Mallory Hollatz. The Dragons rallied and picked up their offensive pressure and pulled ahead of the Hornets. Samantha Matoush scored 5 of her 12 points in the first quarter. The Dragons picked up their defensive pressure early in the second quarter clustering the Hornet guards. The Hornets fought back and caught their rhythm scoring 6 late in the second quarter again behind the shooting of Hollatz. The guards for the Dragons shot well from the outside. Matoush kept up her scoring streak for the Dragons and dropped in 5 points in the second quarter. Coming out of the half the Dragons continued their offensive and defensive pressure. The Hornets had a difficult time scoring but Finley Travis scored 4 points to keep Kelvin Grove close. Tabitha McKinney started to pick up the scoring load for the Dragons pouring in 6 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter.
