Game Comments: The Wolverines of Winchester met the Wildcats of Kinderhook Western in the first semi-final of the night. Both teams met up earlier in the regular season and were familiar with each other's style of play. This turned the first semi into a back-and-forth battle. Both teams played tremendously tough defense and had some impressive scoring drives. Annika Kauffman put the Wildcats up early scoring 14 of her 23 points in the first half. Kauffman finished the night with 5 three-point baskets. Blair Borrowman did her share of scoring to bring the Wildcats within 5 at the half. Borrowman scored 10 of her 13 points in the first half. The Wildcats stepped up their defensive pressure in the second half outscoring the Wolverines. In the final quarter, the Wolverines focused on clock management. As the seconds wound down, Kauffman scored a crucial 3 point basket to cap the win for the Wolverines.
Both teams played an outstanding game.
