Game Comments: Peoria St. Vincent de Paul captured the championship game of the 7th grade Class 2A IESA boys state basketball tournament with a 55-39 victory over the Raiders of Assumption Central A & M. Playing before a packed house the Vikings jumped to an early 14-3 lead after the first quarter and steadily kept the Raiders at bay throughout the majority of the contest. Connor Dillon led the way for the Vikings with 17 points and his first 3 pt. field goal of the game in the first quarter (which was his 12th of the tournament) broke the record of most 3 pt. field goals in the tournament. Dillon had one more trey in the game and now has the record with 13 3 pt. goals in the Class 2A tournament. Connor Heaton led the Raiders with 14 points. The game was well played and both teams competed hard to the end. Congratulations to both teams on excellent seasons.
